Monoclonal antibodies, like the drugs Avastin (bevacizumab), Herceptin (trastuzumab), and Rituxin (rituximab), are reliable in treating a variety of cancer cells kinds such as lung cancer cells, bust cancer, lymphoma, as well as others. By binding to cancer antigens, monoclonal antibodies mark the cells for damage by the immune system. Clinical trials of more monoclonal antibodies for extra cancer types are ongoing.
